Jordan has ratified the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 1993, and as part of fulfilling the country’s commitment to the Convention, Jordan has prepared and submitted the Initial National Communication (INC) in 1998. In order to continue the fulfillment of our commitments, Jordan’s Second National Communication (SNC) has to be prepared and submitted to the UNFCCC.

As a preparatory phase, a self-assessment exercise was performed, the main objective of this phase was to undertake a consultative process of needs assessment, and to identify and validate the critical priorities for UNFCCC implementation in the country.
